Community – Formation- Reflection

“Clapham First Saturdays” gather young adults from 11.00am to 5.00pm in the Laudate Si Community on Clapham Common (4 Windmill Drive, SW4 9DE.) Relaxed and informal, the days provide a great opportunity to meet and learn together and to share experience on a contemporary issue or theme.

A hot vegetarian lunch is provided with lots of time for chat and conversation.  At the end of the day, a vigil Mass is offered for anyone who wants to stay.

In 2019-2020, “Clapham First Saturdays” will offer two series:

1. On the first Saturday of October, December, February, April & May, Theodora Hawksley will explore Catholic Social Teaching through the lens of film.

2. On the first Saturday of November, March & May, Michael Kirwan, SJ will introduce ‘Discerning the Desire of the Nations,’ which, he writes: “..will help us get a wide-angle view of the current political and cultural challenges, using the mimetic theory of René Girard, and the insights of contemporary political theologians. These thinkers will help us discern the spiritual undercurrents of what is going on.”
