Olivia, from Runcorn:
MAGIS 2016 gave me the opportunity to provide an act of service in an unusual way – giving English language tours of a church in Prague – and to do so with a group of new friends.
I enjoyed the daily routine: the gentle start to the day through morning prayer, shared tasks around meals and maintenance, daily mass, and the chance to reflect on it all through the MAGIS circle.
What has stayed with me has been a sense of shared purpose and community, through meeting others with very different perspectives and experiences, and yet a common faith. Sharing in an experience of service, where there was time to reflect on both the practical and spiritual aspects of that service, made it more than just a volunteering holiday.
Chris, from Newcastle:
MAG+S was a wonderful experience which broadened my understanding of the Church and deepened my relationship with God. It was great to meet and make lasting friendships with other young Catholics from around the country and the world. I came away with a greater desire to serve others, to fulfill God’s will for my life.
Nikki, from Oxford:
MAGIS for me was a good way to explore my faith through service, reflection and time with friends in a supportive atmosphere. It gave me time and space to pause in the fast pace of work and study and engage more deeply with the environment around me.
Pat and Mia from Melbourne:
We had such a wonderful experience overseas and still remember with much fondness and gratitude our MAG+S experience. We are still in contact with several people from that group. Thank you so much again for making all that happen.
